Axel's take: 7.1/10

A practical West Side base, but crowded mornings and maintenance issues limit its appeal. a no-frills budget chain hotel in Hell’s Kitchen, scored for what it is.

This no-frills budget chain hotel in Hell’s Kitchen is a reasonable pick for travelers who prioritize sightseeing over hotel time. The cruise terminal is convenient, and Times Square is roughly a 15–20-minute walk away. Recent Expedia guests frequently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; included breakfast helps the value proposition. It delivers the basics, though not consistently enough to be a standout.

The recurring drawbacks are compact rooms, crowded breakfast seating and slow elevators, with some guests also reporting noisy or unreliable air conditioning. Tripadvisor guests describe entrance construction and scaffolding during 2026, including an October stay; confirm the current disruption before booking. Cleanliness feedback is mostly positive, but maintenance and service draw mixed reports across sites. We'd skip it for a quiet hotel-centered break or if elevator delays would create difficulties.

• Best for: budget-conscious sightseers; short pre-cruise stays; travelers happy to explore on foot

• Watch out for: crowded breakfast room and slow elevators; compact rooms and variable air conditioning; reported entrance construction and scaffolding

• Location: Useful Hell’s Kitchen base near the cruise terminal; subway access requires a walk.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable but compact; noise and temperature-control complaints recur.

• Cleanliness: Many recent guests praise clean rooms, with some contrary reports about upkeep.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, though reception and problem handling are inconsistent.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a listed 24-hour gym; no pool or on-site restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Paid off-site parking has no in-and-out privileges; a refundable damage deposit is listed, and construction status needs checking.
