Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong Chelsea base with refreshed rooms and genuinely helpful staff. a renovated 4-star city hotel in Chelsea, scored for what it is.

This renovated 4-star in Chelsea is a strong pick for travelers who prioritize a comfortable base over luxury extras. Hilton says its rooms and public spaces were refreshed in May 2025, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and several subway stops are within walking distance. Sandbar Rooftop and Chelsea Table + Stage give you reasons to spend an evening downstairs—or upstairs.

The trade-offs are worth checking before booking. Some guests report intrusive air-conditioning or corridor noise, though others describe quiet stays. Breakfast is à la carte rather than a buffet; check exactly what any breakfast-inclusive package covers. Valet parking costs extra and excludes in-and-out privileges. We'd choose it for sightseeing or a working trip, but look elsewhere if silence and a generous included breakfast are essentials.

• Best for: sightseers exploring Chelsea and Midtown; Madison Square Garden concertgoers; business travelers

• Watch out for: some reports of air-conditioning and corridor noise; breakfast-package restrictions; paid valet without in-and-out privileges

• Location: Walkable Chelsea address near subway stops, Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.

• Rooms: Refreshed in 2025; comfortable beds earn praise, but noise sensitivity matters.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews.

• Service: Recent feedback strongly favors friendly, helpful reception and housekeeping teams.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, fitness center, rooftop bar, restaurant and ticketed live music.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusions; valet costs extra, has no in-and-out privileges, and self-parking is unavailable.
