Axel's take: 7.8/10

A practical downtown base with helpful staff, tight rooms and construction next door. a compact, mid-range 3-star in Manhattan’s Financial District, scored for what it is.

This compact, mid-range 3-star is a good pick for exploring Lower Manhattan rather than spending much time in your room. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms. Wall Street, the Seaport and several subway lines are within easy reach. The rooftop bar and complimentary 24-hour gym add something beyond the basics.

Space is the clearest compromise: recent Expedia and Trip.com guests describe rooms that get cramped with multiple people or suitcases. Trip.com reviews also repeatedly mention noisy air-conditioning, alongside some maintenance shortcomings. Expedia currently warns of construction noise from a neighboring building, so don’t assume the side-street address guarantees quiet. Breakfast costs extra. We’d choose it for a practical solo or couples’ stay, but skip it if generous space or dependable silence matters most.

• Best for: solo travelers exploring Lower Manhattan; couples who pack light; Financial District business trips

• Watch out for: neighboring-building construction noise; cramped rooms with multiple suitcases; reports of noisy air-conditioning

• Location: Walkable Financial District base near the Seaport, Wall Street and subway connections.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds, limited floor space; recent guests report some noisy AC and maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Mostly strong recent feedback, especially on Expedia, though not uniformly spotless.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a consistent strength across review sites.

• Amenities: Complimentary 24-hour gym, rooftop bar and on-site dining; breakfast costs extra.

• Fees and surprises: A stay deposit applies; parking is paid and off-site without in/out privileges; Expedia flags neighboring construction.
