Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong, practical base for Manhattan buses and Meadowlands events. a practical, limited-service mid-range hotel in Secaucus, scored for what it is.

Best Western Plus Meadowlands is a limited-service mid-range hotel that makes a convincing case for staying outside Manhattan. We'd pick it for clean, roomy accommodation, free parking and straightforward bus access to Port Authority. Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and comfortable rooms, while recent Tripadvisor feedback reinforces the location's appeal. Microwaves, refrigerators and included hot breakfast make it especially practical for families.

The trade-off is convenience rather than atmosphere: this is a functional Secaucus base, not a New York neighborhood stay. Breakfast earns mixed reviews, with crowding and limited choice recurring across sites. Some guests also mention room or air-conditioning noise, though cleanliness and service feedback is predominantly positive. We'd skip it if stepping straight into Manhattan matters more than parking and space.

• Best for: families wanting parking and room space; Manhattan visitors comfortable taking the bus; Meadowlands event visitors

• Watch out for: crowded breakfast area; some reports of room and air-conditioning noise; bus commute for Manhattan sightseeing

• Location: Nearby Manhattan buses and casual restaurants are major strengths; the exposition center is walkable.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, with microwaves and refrigerators; some guests flag noise.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across recent Expedia and Trip.com reviews, with occasional lapses.

• Service: Helpful front-desk staff and transport advice draw consistent praise.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking and a fitness center cover the practical basics.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; Expedia lists pet fees and a pet deposit, plus possible early-arrival or late-departure charges.
