A practical Bay Ridge base, with helpful staff but uneven upkeep. A simple, older budget chain hotel in Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge, scored for what it is.

Best Western Gregory is a simple, older budget hotel that makes most sense when you need to be in Bay Ridge. We'd consider it for neighborhood visits rather than a Manhattan sightseeing trip. Recent Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the included breakfast; the R train is just two blocks away. It delivers useful basics, but isn't consistently polished.

The trade-offs are uneven housekeeping and maintenance, occasional hallway or event noise, and no hotel parking. Expedia lists a 2025 remodel, yet spring 2026 guests on several sites reported renovation disruption and elevator outages; completion isn't clearly confirmed. Later summer reviews are more positive, though room condition still varies. We'd skip it for a quick Manhattan commute, and anyone dependent on an elevator should confirm its operation before booking.

• Best for: Visiting friends or family in Bay Ridge; Budget-conscious Brooklyn stays; Travelers arriving without a car

• Watch out for: Confirm renovation status and elevator operation; Uneven upkeep and occasional noise; No hotel parking; lengthy Manhattan trips

• Location: Bay Ridge shops and restaurants nearby; the R train is two blocks away, but Manhattan takes time.

• Rooms: Some guests find rooms spacious and comfortable; others report tired fittings, noise and maintenance problems.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive recent Expedia feedback, tempered by recurring reports of missed cleaning and inconsistent housekeeping.

• Service: Helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength, although problem handling is not uniformly reliable.

• Amenities: Breakfast and Wi-Fi included; the hotel confirms there is no pool or fitness center.

• Fees and surprises: No hotel parking; Expedia lists a deposit and optional safe fee. Spring 2026 renovation and elevator issues warrant checking.
