Axel's take: 6.9/10

A workable budget stop with helpful staff, but uneven housekeeping keeps expectations modest. a no-frills 2-star roadside hotel off I-35, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star off I-35 makes sense for a short, budget-minded stop rather than a hotel-centered vacation. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests often praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms; some describe refreshed furnishings. Free parking, in-room microwaves and refrigerators add practical value, and New Braunfels’ rivers and attractions are a short drive away.

The catch is consistency. Expedia and Booking.com’s overall ratings are noticeably weaker than Tripadvisor’s, and housekeeping is not uniformly dependable: some guests report dirty floors or stained bedding despite plenty of clean-room praise. Breakfast is a light continental offering, not a substantial meal, and the outdoor pool is seasonal. We’d consider it for an inexpensive overnight with a car, but skip it if reliably spotless rooms, a full breakfast or a walkable downtown setting are priorities.

Best for: budget-minded road trippers; short river-trip stays with a car; travelers with pets
Watch out for: uneven housekeeping; very limited breakfast; seasonal outdoor pool
Location: Convenient I-35 access; downtown, rivers and Schlitterbahn are better reached by car.
Rooms: Simple rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges; recent guests often praise beds and some refreshed furnishings.
Cleanliness: Many recent clean-room reports, but floor and bedding complaints make consistency a concern.
Service: Helpful, friendly front-desk staff are a recurring strength across recent reviews.
Amenities: Free WiFi and parking, light breakfast, laundry facilities and a seasonal outdoor pool.
Fees and surprises: Pets cost extra; confirm restrictions and pool opening dates before booking.
