Axel's take: 4.8/10

Useful kitchenettes cannot outweigh recurring cleanliness and maintenance problems. a basic 2-star extended-stay motel with kitchenettes, scored for what it is.

Studio 6 New Braunfels is a basic 2-star extended-stay motel near I-35 and Highway 46. Kitchenettes, coin laundry and free Wi-Fi give it practical appeal for working stays. Some recent Expedia guests praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, but we'd struggle to recommend it even against modest budget-motel expectations.

The problem is consistency on the basics. Recent guests repeatedly report cockroaches, unpleasant odors and poorly maintained fixtures; older Tripadvisor feedback echoes the pest complaints. Low overall ratings on Booking.com and Expedia reinforce that this is more than a few unhappy travelers. Kitchen equipment also varies, and several guests describe checking in at the neighboring Motel 6. We'd skip it for a family vacation or any stay where dependable cleanliness matters more than having cooking facilities.

Best for: budget workers needing a kitchenette; drivers seeking highway access
Watch out for: recurring cockroach and odor reports; inconsistent maintenance and kitchen supplies; check-in may be at neighboring Motel 6
Location: Near I-35 and Highway 46; practical for drivers rather than a downtown stay.
Rooms: Kitchenettes are useful, but guests report dated interiors and inconsistent equipment and repairs.
Cleanliness: Some guests find clean rooms, but repeated pest, odor and dirty-towel reports are serious concerns.
Service: Helpful staff earn praise, while housekeeping and complaint handling receive recurring criticism.
Amenities: The official site confirms kitchenettes, free Wi-Fi, truck parking and coin laundry; Booking.com also lists an indoor pool.
Fees and surprises: Confirm deposit terms, pet charges, kitchen inventory and elevator operation before booking.
