Axel's take: 7.6/10

Beautiful beaches and generous suites make a strong case, but renovations currently compromise the luxury. an all-suite luxury beachfront hotel within the sprawling Atlantis resort, scored for what it is.

The Cove is an all-suite luxury beachfront hotel within Atlantis, best for travelers who want spacious accommodation and waterpark access rather than an intimate island retreat. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the beaches, ocean views and generous room layouts. Cleanliness is generally a strength, and the quieter setting provides some separation from Atlantis’s busier areas.

The current catch is substantial: The Cove Pool and Frezca are closed for redevelopment, while guestroom renovations continue into 2027, with possible daytime noise. The Reserve at Baths Colonnade provides an adults-only alternative, but published pool reopening dates differ; confirm directly before booking. Recent reviews also describe dated rooms, uneven service and expensive dining. We'd choose it for beach-and-waterpark variety, but skip it for a quiet luxury escape until the work is finished.

• Best for: families wanting space and waterpark access; couples who enjoy large resorts; beach lovers seeking extensive dining choices

• Watch out for: Cove Pool and Frezca closed for redevelopment; guestroom renovations and possible daytime noise; expensive dining and inconsistent service

• Location: Excellent beachfront setting, with walks or resort transport to the wider Atlantis attractions.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with balconies; older interiors draw criticism while phased renovations continue.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated, although some recent guests flag worn carpets.

• Service: Many warm, helpful staff reports, offset by recurring complaints about responsiveness and restaurant service.

• Amenities: Aquaventure access, beaches, spa and gym; The Reserve supplies the replacement adults-only pool experience.

• Fees and surprises: Not all-inclusive; budget for dining, paid extras and an incidental deposit, and reconfirm renovation arrangements.
