Axel's take: 9.1/10

A strong downtown pick for clean, comfortable rooms and Broadway access, with costly parking. a modern, upscale downtown hotel near Broadway, scored for what it is.

Tempo is a modern, upscale downtown hotel that gets the important things right: clean rooms, comfortable beds and an easy walk to Broadway, the Ryman and Bridgestone Arena. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff and fresh condition, while Booking.com’s particularly strong cleanliness and comfort scores reinforce that picture. We’d put it high on the list for a Nashville weekend without a car. A well-equipped gym, Bluestone Lane café and seasonal outdoor pool add substance beyond the location.

The clearest drawback is expensive valet parking, with no hotel self-parking; breakfast also costs extra. Some Tripadvisor guests describe service lapses, but these are exceptions to broadly enthusiastic feedback rather than the defining experience. Check pool availability for your dates, and skip it if included breakfast and inexpensive parking are priorities.

• Best for: car-free Nashville weekends; concert and nightlife trips; travelers prioritizing clean, modern rooms

• Watch out for: expensive valet-only hotel parking; breakfast costs extra; seasonal outdoor pool

• Location: Walkable to Broadway, the Ryman and Bridgestone Arena without being directly on the honky-tonk strip.

• Rooms: Modern, comfortable rooms draw consistent praise for beds, bathrooms and overall condition.

• Cleanliness: A standout strength across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff dominate feedback, with occasional reports of slow responses or check-in problems.

• Amenities: Well-equipped gym, seasonal outdoor pool, café, lounge and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and breakfast cost extra; hotel self-parking is unavailable.
