Axel's take: 7.8/10

A well-located budget base with friendly staff, but rooms show their age. a simple, older 3-star in Mexico City's Zona Rosa, scored for what it is.

Hotel Del Principado is a simple, older 3-star in Zona Rosa, strongest as an affordable base for exploring Mexico City. We'd pick it for location rather than looks: Reforma, restaurants and public transport are within walking distance. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff and clean rooms, while overall ratings point to a dependable, straightforward stay.

The trade-offs are dated furnishings, no air-conditioning and inconsistent Wi-Fi; breakfast gets mixed feedback for variety. We'd skip it if reliable connectivity or modern room comfort is essential. A June 2026 guest reported construction next door causing vibrations, so confirm whether work continues before booking. Hotels.com also lists a restaurant closure from October 31 to November 3; check dining arrangements if visiting then.

• Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; short sightseeing stays; travelers prioritizing walkable dining and transit

• Watch out for: No air-conditioning and unreliable Wi-Fi; Dated rooms and limited breakfast variety; Check adjacent construction and seasonal restaurant closure

• Location: Central Juárez/Zona Rosa setting, walkable to Reforma, restaurants and metro stations.

• Rooms: Basic, older rooms; comfort generally satisfies, but furnishings need updating and air-conditioning is absent.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive recent feedback, with cleanliness a recurring strength.

• Service: Friendly, attentive staff receive consistent praise across review sites.

• Amenities: Restaurant, buffet breakfast, limited-hours room service, free Wi-Fi and parking; connectivity can be patchy.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; airport transfers cost extra. Confirm construction and October 31–November 3 dining availability.
