#8 of 8 hotels in Soho by Axel's take. Soho is #1 of 9 places to stay in Málaga. The best hotels in Soho, ranked · Where to stay in Málaga

Axel's take: 6.2/10

Location does the heavy lifting; cleanliness and sleep quality need improvement. A basic budget hostel with dorms and private rooms in central Soho, scored for what it is.

Feel Hostels Soho Málaga is a basic budget hostel, not a conventional two-star hotel. Its strongest argument is convenience: Calle Larios, the port and airport-train connections are close by. Private rooms and female-only dorms broaden the options, while guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff. We'd consider it for a short, location-first stay rather than a comfortable retreat.

The compromises go beyond ordinary dorm sharing. Recent Hostelworld and Booking-linked reviews repeatedly describe dirty or smelly bathrooms, shaky bunks and disruptive noise, although some guests report clean rooms and comfortable stays. An October 2026 guest found the rooftop terrace closed, following similar reports in May; August guests also reported early-morning construction next door. We'd skip it if reliable cleanliness, privacy or uninterrupted sleep matters more than being central.

  • Best for: Budget travelers prioritizing location; Short city stopovers

  • Watch out for: Inconsistent bathroom cleanliness; Dorm noise and nearby construction reports; Rooftop terrace recently reported closed

  • Location: Central Soho, within walking distance of Calle Larios, the port and public transport.

  • Rooms: Private rooms and mixed or female dorms; guests report shaky bunks and limited privacy.

  • Cleanliness: Mixed rather than uniformly poor, but bathroom dirt and odors recur in recent reviews.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are a recurring strength, though complaint handling draws criticism.

  • Amenities: Wi-Fi, shared kitchen, bar and laundry; confirm terrace access before booking.

  • Fees and surprises: Towel rental and a key deposit are listed; clarify breakfast and luggage-storage charges, as published terms conflict.
