Axel's take: 8.7/10

Huge suites and helpful staff make this a strong pick, but renovations warrant caution. a sprawling five-star, all-suite casino resort on Cotai, scored for what it is.

The Venetian Macao is a sprawling five-star casino resort on Cotai, and a strong pick if you want generous space and plenty to do without leaving the complex. Entry-level suites measure 70 square meters, while shopping, restaurants and pools make it particularly practical for families. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and helpful staff; the appeal goes beyond the Venice-themed spectacle.

The trade-off is scale: busy public areas and long, sometimes confusing walks make this less relaxing than a smaller luxury hotel. Room-and-suite renovations are underway, with completion targeted for Chinese New Year 2028; a September 2026 Tripadvisor guest reported disruptive construction noise. Confirm the work near your assigned room before booking. We'd skip it for a quiet, intimate luxury break, but recommend it for spacious accommodation and resort convenience.

Best for: families wanting spacious suites; shopping and casino trips; travelers who enjoy large resorts
Watch out for: ongoing room renovations and possible noise; long, confusing walks through the complex; busy public areas
Location: Convenient for Cotai's resort attractions, with complimentary shuttle options.
Rooms: Entry-level suites span 70 square meters; confirm room category and renovation status.
Cleanliness: Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and housekeeping.
Service: Helpful, attentive staff earn consistent praise across Expedia and Tripadvisor.
Amenities: Outdoor pools, a gym, extensive shopping, dining and a casino support a self-contained stay.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast and extra beds can cost extra; ongoing room renovations are the main current surprise.
