Axel's take: 7.8/10

A strong Hollywood party base, but a risky choice for light sleepers. a nightlife-focused 4-star boutique hotel in Hollywood, scored for what it is.

Hollywood Volume is a nightlife-focused 4-star boutique hotel: we'd pick it for a social Hollywood weekend, not a restful escape. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and welcoming staff, while the location puts Hollywood Boulevard within walking distance. The rooftop pool, Desert 5 Spot bar and on-site dining give it more personality than a conventional chain hotel.

The trade-offs are substantial: compact rooms, limited storage and late-night music that several recent guests on Expedia and Trip.com say reaches bedrooms. Some sleep comfortably, but quiet isn't a safe assumption. Guests also report event-related restrictions on pool access. Add a nightly destination fee and costly valet parking, and we'd steer families, light sleepers and anyone needing an early start elsewhere.

• Best for: nightlife-focused couples and friends; short Hollywood sightseeing stays; travelers who prioritize social spaces

• Watch out for: late-night rooftop music reaching rooms; small rooms with limited storage; destination fee, costly valet and event-limited pool access

• Location: Walkable to Hollywood Boulevard, restaurants and Hollywood/Vine Metro.

• Rooms: Stylish but compact; limited storage and missing mini-fridges recur in guest feedback.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise, especially on Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, gym, café, KA'TEEN and Desert 5 Spot; guests report pool restrictions during events.

• Fees and surprises: Nightly destination fee, nightly breakage deposit and paid valet; breakfast costs extra.
