Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong studio-trip base, with spacious rooms and useful shuttles rather than full-service luxury. a small, comfortable mid-range boutique hotel near Burbank’s studios, scored for what it is.

Coast Burbank is a small, mid-range boutique hotel, not the full-service luxury stay its four-star listing might suggest. It’s a strong pick for Universal and Warner Bros. visits: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms, generous showers and welcoming staff. Free shuttles to the studios and Burbank Airport add practical value, especially if you reserve both directions ahead.

The compromises are worth knowing. Parking costs extra, and the pool and gym belong to Safari Inn across the street, not this building; September 2026 reviews reported closures, so confirm access before booking. Some guests also describe worn furnishings and uneven air-conditioning. Earlier restaurant-renovation complaints are less relevant now that the hotel advertises Arya as open. We’d choose it for a comfortable studio-focused trip, but skip it for a pool-centered vacation or polished luxury.

• Best for: Universal and Warner Bros. visitors; travelers flying through Burbank Airport; families wanting spacious rooms

• Watch out for: paid parking; pool and gym across the street; confirm availability; shuttle reservations and limited operating hours

• Location: Convenient for Burbank studios; broader sightseeing needs transport rather than relying on walking.

• Rooms: Spacious rooms and well-liked showers; some guests report worn furnishings or inadequate cooling.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Welcoming staff are a recurring strength, with some exceptions around problem handling.

• Amenities: Free reserved shuttles, Wi-Fi and Arya restaurant; pool and gym access at Safari Inn across the street.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra; confirm pool and gym access following September closure reports.
