Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise roomy accommodation, cleanliness and helpful staff; breakfast also earns plenty of approval. The station is about seven minutes away on foot, with a free shuttle making luggage transfers easier. It's a strong fit for families and travelers using Kyoto as a rail base.
