Axel's take: 7.9/10

Generous rooms and warm hospitality, but not consistently polished five-star luxury. a traditional five-star city hotel near the monorail, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Imperial is a traditional five-star city hotel that makes more sense for space and value than cutting-edge luxury. We'd shortlist it for its large rooms, convenient Medan Tuanku monorail access and warmly reviewed staff. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the hospitality and breakfast, while Booking.com's strong cleanliness and comfort ratings reinforce the generally positive picture. It's a good fit for travelers who prefer classic surroundings and room to spread out.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep: recent guests across sites describe dated bathrooms, worn carpets and facilities needing attention. Traffic and motorcycle noise also recur; request a high room away from the main road. An October 2026 Expedia guest reported the hot tub and steam room closed for maintenance, so confirm availability before a spa-focused stay. We'd skip it if pristine facilities and seamless five-star service are essential.

• Best for: travelers prioritizing room space and value; city explorers using public transport; fans of traditional full-service hotels

• Watch out for: traffic and motorcycle noise; dated rooms and uneven facility upkeep; confirm hot tub and steam room availability

• Location: Near Medan Tuanku monorail, with Quill City Mall opposite; convenient rather than directly in KLCC.

• Rooms: Spacious and comfortable overall, but dated bathrooms and worn carpets recur in recent feedback.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across guest ratings, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Warm staff and Club Lounge hospitality stand out; reception and room-service delays draw some criticism.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym and dining on site; recent feedback on leisure-facility condition is mixed.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is charged per entry for hotel guests; Marriott says there is no airport shuttle.
