Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical budget base near KL Sentral, with uneven upkeep. a no-frills 3-star in Brickfields, within walking distance of KL Sentral, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 3-star in Brickfields is a sensible pick for travelers who want transport connections and good value rather than polished surroundings. KL Sentral and NU Sentral are within walking distance, with inexpensive Indian restaurants nearby. Recent Expedia, Traveloka and Klook guests frequently praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. We'd consider it for a short city break or a night between journeys.

The compromise is consistency. Guest reports describe maintenance niggles, patchy housekeeping supplies and occasional unhelpful service alongside plenty of straightforward, satisfactory stays. Some rooms are compact, and the walk from the station involves navigating busy roads rather than stepping straight into the lobby. Free parking is limited and first come, first served. We'd skip it if you need reliably polished rooms, attentive service throughout or guaranteed parking.

• Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; short stays using KL Sentral; travelers seeking nearby Indian food

• Watch out for: uneven maintenance and housekeeping supplies; busy-road walk from the station; limited first-come parking

• Location: Walkable to KL Sentral and NU Sentral, but the road layout can make arrival awkward.

• Rooms: Simple air-conditioned rooms; some are compact, with maintenance and comfort varying between guest reports.

• Cleanliness: Often praised recently, though bathroom cleaning and replenishment are not consistently reliable.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, but responsiveness varies by shift and situation.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, elevator, luggage storage and limited free parking; confirm whether breakfast is included.

• Fees and surprises: Traveloka lists a refundable security deposit and tourism tax for applicable foreign guests; parking is not guaranteed.
