#9 of 9 hotels in Bukit Bintang by Axel's take. Bukit Bintang is #1 of 6 places to stay in Kuala Lumpur. The best hotels in Bukit Bintang, ranked · Where to stay in Kuala Lumpur

Axel's take: 7.1/10

Good space and shopping access, but the rooms need more consistent upkeep. an older, value-focused 4-star near Kuala Lumpur’s shopping malls, scored for what it is.

Furama Bukit Bintang is an older 4-star whose strongest selling points are room size and shopping access, rather than polish. We'd consider it for a practical city break: LaLaport and Berjaya Times Square are close, rail connections are walkable, and there’s an outdoor pool and gym. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms and helpful staff, making it a reasonable choice for travelers who prioritize space over contemporary interiors.

The compromise is uneven upkeep. Recent Tripadvisor reviews describe worn furniture, musty smells and maintenance faults, alongside others reporting clean, comfortable stays; Expedia also shows weaker ratings for property condition than service. Breakfast gets mixed feedback, and tour groups can make dining busy. We'd skip it if fresh interiors, reliably meticulous housekeeping or a quiet, polished four-star experience are priorities.

Best for: value-minded shoppers; families wanting larger rooms; travelers prioritizing space over style
Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven maintenance; inconsistent housekeeping and odor reports; busy group-tour breakfast periods
Location: Near LaLaport and Berjaya Times Square, with Imbi and Hang Tuah rail connections within walking distance.
Rooms: Generous room sizes and family configurations; furnishings and maintenance vary.
Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recent odor and housekeeping complaints prevent a wholehearted recommendation.
Service: Helpful reception staff attract repeated praise, though not every guest reports smooth problem handling.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, children’s pool, gym and restaurant; lounge access depends on room category.
Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as free; breakfast depends on the booking, and eligible foreign guests pay a separate tourism tax.
