Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical city base with helpful staff, but check the pool before booking. A traditional 4-star business hotel near Ernakulam Town station, scored for what it is.

Hotel Presidency is a traditional 4-star business hotel in central Ernakulam, best chosen for convenience rather than luxury. We'd consider it a good pick for a short city stay: Ernakulam Town station and the metro are nearby, and recent Agoda, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. The overall picture is good rather than outstanding, with comfort and service stronger selling points than the facilities.

The main caution is the rooftop pool: an Agoda guest reported it under maintenance in June 2026, and reopening isn't confirmed. Booking.com also gives Wi-Fi a relatively weak rating. We'd choose it for business, rail connections and straightforward comfort, but skip it if swimming, dependable connectivity or a polished luxury experience are central to the trip.

• Best for: Business travelers; Rail travelers; Short Ernakulam stays

• Watch out for: Pool reopening unconfirmed after June 2026 maintenance; Uneven Wi-Fi feedback; Practical rather than luxurious

• Location: Convenient for Ernakulam Town station and Lissie metro; this is the city property, not the airport hotel.

• Rooms: Recent guests generally describe comfortable, clean rooms; some praise their size.

• Cleanliness: A recurring strength across recent Agoda, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Helpful, courteous staff earn repeated praise, though execution is not uniformly smooth.

• Amenities: Restaurants, a bar and free parking; confirm rooftop-pool availability before booking.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and extra beds cost extra; check whether breakfast is included.
