Axel's take: 8.1/10

Spacious rooms and welcoming staff make this a practical north-Jeddah base. an independent mid-range hotel with spacious rooms and suites in Al Salamah, scored for what it is.

Gladiolus is an independent mid-range hotel in Al Salamah, strongest on room space, comfort and friendly service rather than luxury polish. Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the roomy accommodation and helpful reception team, while Expedia reviews reinforce the positive picture on cleanliness. We'd shortlist it for families and short business stays, particularly when airport access matters more than a waterfront setting. An indoor pool, gym and sauna add useful extras.

The trade-offs are a breakfast spread that several recent guests find limited and leisure facilities that are modest rather than resort-sized. Guests reported surrounding construction and excavation in February and July 2026, including noise and awkward access; check whether that work continues before booking. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere sightseeing trip or if an extensive breakfast and substantial spa are priorities.

• Best for: families wanting extra room; short business stays; travelers prioritizing airport access

• Watch out for: surrounding construction reported in 2026; limited breakfast variety; modest pool and wellness facilities

• Location: Al Salamah base with nearby eateries and convenient airport access; not a waterfront hotel.

• Rooms: Space and comfortable beds are recurring strengths; confirm any advertised balcony for your room.

• Cleanliness: Generally strong guest feedback, though not uniformly faultless.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are the most consistent highlight across sources.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, gym, sauna and restaurant; guests describe some wellness facilities as small.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as free; Expedia advises arranging it ahead. Confirm nearby construction status.
