Axel's take: 7.8/10

A practical train-stop base, with comfortable rooms but some uneven upkeep. a simple, budget-friendly city hotel in Al Naseem, scored for what it is.

City View is a simple, budget-friendly city hotel in Al Naseem, strongest as a short-stay base near Jeddah’s Haramain railway station. Booking.com and Agoda guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff, spacious rooms and nearby shops and restaurants. Overall feedback is comfortably positive, and free parking, Wi-Fi and a pool give it useful extras for the money.

The trade-off is consistency rather than a lack of facilities. Some guests report cleaning lapses or tired equipment, and one Expedia reviewer says room cleaning needed requesting. Recent Booking.com-linked reviews also describe no lunch or dinner service, despite listings advertising a restaurant. We’d choose it for a practical overnight stop, not a hotel-centered holiday; skip it if dependable housekeeping, polished facilities or a waterfront setting are priorities.

• Best for: Haramain rail travelers; Budget-conscious short stays; Travelers wanting nearby shops and restaurants

• Watch out for: Uneven housekeeping and maintenance; Do not count on lunch or dinner service; Not a waterfront base

• Location: Al Naseem setting near the railway station, with shops and restaurants within walking distance.

• Rooms: Often praised as spacious and comfortable, though some guests flag worn furnishings or equipment.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, tempered by individual cleaning lapses; confirm the housekeeping schedule.

• Service: Helpful reception staff are a recurring strength, although responsiveness is not uniformly praised.

• Amenities: Pool, gym and breakfast are listed; confirm spa availability and meal service before relying on them.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and Wi-Fi are listed as free; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
