Axel's take: 8.8/10
A strong Hoi An base, with standout service and some older-hotel compromises. a boutique luxury riverside resort beside Hoi An Ancient Town, scored for what it is.
Anantara is a boutique luxury riverside resort in Hoi An, not central Da Nang, and we'd choose it for exploring the Ancient Town without sacrificing gardens, a pool and attentive service. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise the welcoming staff, walkable location and breakfast. Cleanliness also earns strong marks. The hotel says its river suites have been renovated, making those worth considering if room freshness matters.
The trade-off is that this isn't uniformly cutting-edge luxury: some guests still find parts of the property dated, and soundproofing draws occasional criticism. Upper-floor accommodation involves stairs, while split-level rooms deserve a closer look if mobility is limited. We'd skip it for a beach-first holiday—An Bang is around five kilometres away—but it's a very good fit for travelers who put Hoi An's restaurants and historic streets first.
-
Best for: couples exploring Hoi An; travelers who value personal service; culture-focused stays with pool time

-

-

-
