Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong pool-and-spa base for Old Town, but choose your room carefully. a five-star spa resort near Hoi An’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Almanity is a five-star spa resort in Hoi An, not central Da Nang, and it’s a strong pick for combining sightseeing with pool time. Old Town is roughly a 10–15-minute walk away. Recent Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, generous breakfast and inviting pool; cleanliness also earns consistently strong feedback. We’d choose it for those everyday comforts and convenient location rather than secluded luxury.

Room choice matters: the split-level lofts have internal stairs that guests across several sites find awkward, particularly for nighttime bathroom trips. Request a single-level room if mobility is a concern. The family-friendly pool isn’t guaranteed to be quiet, although many guests find it relaxing. One September 2026 Expedia guest reported minor renovation noise; check whether any work remains. Skip it if beachfront access or reliably hushed surroundings are essential.

Best for: Old Town sightseeing with pool downtime; Spa-focused couples; Families wanting resort facilities near town
Watch out for: Internal stairs in loft rooms; Pool atmosphere can be lively; Check for remaining renovation work
Location: In Hoi An, roughly 10–15 minutes on foot from Old Town; not a beachfront resort.
Rooms: Generally praised for space and comfort, but loft layouts create a meaningful accessibility drawback.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback; Expedia rates cleanliness particularly highly.
Service: Warm, attentive staff receive repeated praise across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia.
Amenities: Pool, substantial spa, gym and bicycles support a sightseeing-and-relaxation stay; breakfast is a highlight.
Fees and surprises: Confirm spa inclusions; airport transfers cost extra, and Expedia lists mandatory Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve dinners.
