#1 of 7 hotels in West Lake (Tay Ho) by Axel's take. West Lake (Tay Ho) is #4 of 5 places to stay in Hanoi. The best hotels in West Lake (Tay Ho), ranked · Where to stay in Hanoi

Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong family base with generous space, but not guaranteed quiet. an upscale serviced-apartment hotel in Tay Ho, scored for what it is.

Somerset West Point Hanoi is an upscale serviced-apartment hotel in Tay Ho, best chosen for practical comfort rather than a sightseeing-first location. It's a strong pick for families and longer stays: kitchens, washer-dryers and multi-bedroom layouts make everyday life easier. Booking.com, Expedia and Trip.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, spacious apartments and helpful staff. The outdoor pool, gym and children's facilities give it more staying power than a standard hotel room.

The main compromises are location and noise. You'll generally need transport to the Old Quarter, and several guests report traffic noise even on high floors. Nearby construction was reported in May 2026 and acknowledged by management; check its current status before booking. We'd skip it for a short trip focused on walking between central sights, or if uninterrupted quiet is essential.

Best for: families needing separate bedrooms; extended stays with self-catering; business travelers based in Tay Ho
Watch out for: traffic noise can reach high floors; transport needed for Old Quarter sightseeing; nearby construction reported in May 2026
Location: Tay Ho restaurants and West Lake nearby; less convenient for Old Quarter sightseeing.
Rooms: Spacious, practical apartments with kitchens, washer-dryers and balconies; sound insulation draws some criticism.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Trip.com reviews.
Service: Repeated praise for friendly reception staff, responsive assistance and housekeeping.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, children's pool and playroom, gym, sauna and steam rooms.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast is not always included; airport transfers and pets carry charges. Confirm nearby construction status.
