Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong everyday Hanoi base, with helpful staff and breakfast included. a practical 3-star city hotel south of Hoan Kiem Lake, scored for what it is.

A25 Premium is a practical 3-star city hotel, not a luxury stay despite the name. We'd pick it for comfortable rooms, helpful service and good everyday value. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness and staff, while recent Trip.com reviews highlight comfortable beds, generous room sizes and thoughtful toiletries. The hotel's included breakfast buffet and small gym add useful extras.

The main compromise is location: you're south of Hoan Kiem Lake, rather than in the Old Quarter's busiest sightseeing streets. Expect a walk or short ride to that action. Room categories also matter—the entry-level doubles are considerably smaller than the suites. Décor leans traditional, and one recent guest mentions worn furnishings, though that isn't a dominant complaint. We'd skip it for contemporary boutique style or a pool, but it's a strong pick for a straightforward city stay.

• Best for: value-minded couples; business travelers; sightseers happy outside the Old Quarter

• Watch out for: a walk or ride to Old Quarter attractions; compact entry-level rooms; no swimming pool

• Location: South of Hoan Kiem Lake; the hotel lists the lake and Opera House around 1.4 km away.

• Rooms: Comfortable, traditionally styled rooms; Superior doubles are about 18 m², with larger suites available.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across booking sites; the overall evidence does not suggest a recurring cleanliness problem.

• Service: Helpful reception and housekeeping are consistent strengths in recent guest feedback.

• Amenities: Included breakfast buffet, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and a small gym; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and car parking cost extra; early check-in and late checkout can also incur charges.
