Hotel Red Booby is a simple, independent 3-star that makes most sense as a base for exploring Santa Cruz. The hotel puts the waterfront and pier about five minutes away on foot, and its rooftop pool and included breakfast are useful extras. Tripadvisor guests praise clean, comfortable accommodation, while Expedia’s 2025 and 2026 reviews particularly praise the helpful staff. We'd consider it for a trip spent mostly out exploring rather than lingering at the hotel.
