Axel's take: 6.3/10

The beach location delivers; room consistency and check-in are the compromises. a basic motel-style aparthotel steps from Hollywood Beach, scored for what it is.

Hollywood Beach Flamingo is a basic motel-style aparthotel, not a full-service resort. We'd consider it for a beach-first break with modest expectations: the sand and Broadwalk are about a minute away, kitchens make simple meals possible, and guests can use the wider Hollywood Beach Hotels group's five pools. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guest feedback includes praise for clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, but the experience is uneven.

The recurring drawbacks are worn interiors, inconsistent reception service and queues at the separate check-in office at 1915 North Ocean Drive. Multiple guests also report being assigned another building, so confirm your accommodation before arrival. Breakfast is served at Casa Pellegrino, not Flamingo. A nightly hotel fee, paid parking and a security deposit deserve checking before booking. We'd skip it if reliable room condition or a hassle-free arrival matters more than beach access.

• Best for: budget-minded beachgoers; travelers wanting a kitchen

• Watch out for: off-site check-in and reported building changes; uneven room condition and reception service; nightly hotel fee, paid parking and deposit

• Location: About a minute's walk from Hollywood Beach and the Broadwalk—the clearest reason to book.

• Rooms: Simple kitchen-equipped accommodation; guests report compact rooms, dated furnishings and variable maintenance.

• Cleanliness: Many recent guests praise cleanliness, but negative reports mean consistency is not assured.

• Service: Helpful staff receive praise, alongside recurring complaints about reception attitude and check-in delays.

• Amenities: Five shared heated pools; continental breakfast at Casa Pellegrino; housekeeping refreshes on request.

• Fees and surprises: Nightly hotel fee, paid parking and refundable card deposit; confirm your assigned building and cancellation terms.
