Axel's take: 8.8/10

Attentive service and generous rooms make this a strong resort, but check neighboring construction. a traditional five-star beach resort on the Palm’s East Crescent, scored for what it is.

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is a traditional five-star beach resort that earns its strongest praise for getting the essentials right. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly highlight attentive staff, spacious rooms, thorough housekeeping and an excellent breakfast. We'd choose it for a holiday centered on the private beach, pools and leisurely meals, rather than daily sightseeing. Families have a kids’ club, while couples have an adults-only pool.

The main reservation is neighboring construction: guests have reported disturbed mornings, and a travel operator still flags building works around the hotel. Ask specifically about noise affecting your room and the beach before committing. The East Crescent location also means relying on transport for most outings. We'd skip it if guaranteed quiet or easy access to central Dubai matters more than resort comforts.

Best for: families wanting a full-service beach resort; couples planning pool-and-beach days; travelers who prioritize attentive service
Watch out for: neighboring construction and potential noise; transport needed for most sightseeing; restaurant schedules vary by day
Location: Beachfront on the Palm’s East Crescent; better for staying put than frequent trips into central Dubai.
Rooms: Generously sized rooms and bathrooms; recent guests praise comfort, maintenance and sea views.
Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback, including repeated recent mentions of spotless rooms.
Service: The standout strength across sites, particularly housekeeping, breakfast and beach staff.
Amenities: Private beach, family and adults-only pools, spa, gym, tennis and kids’ club; check dining schedules.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; breakfast inclusion depends on your booking, and nearby building works remain flagged.
