Axel's take: 8.3/10

Generous rooms and racecourse views impress, but check current building work before booking. a renovated 5-star hotel overlooking Meydan Racecourse, scored for what it is.

The Meydan is a renovated 5-star racecourse hotel whose strongest selling point is space: rooms start at 62 square metres. Reopened under Rare Finds in January 2026, it looks a strong pick for racing fans and travelers who prefer room to spread out over a central address. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable rooms, cleanliness and welcoming staff; the rooftop infinity pool adds another reason to linger.

The trade-off is a location better suited to taxis than sightseeing on foot. More importantly, an October 17, 2026 Hotels.com review reports renovation drilling from early morning; the current scope and completion date remain unconfirmed. We'd get written clarification before booking a quiet break. Service feedback is mostly positive, though some guests describe poor problem handling. Choose it for space and racing, not a walk-out Downtown stay.

• Best for: horse-racing fans; couples who prioritize spacious rooms; travelers happy using taxis

• Watch out for: recent report of early-morning renovation drilling; not a walk-out Downtown location; occasional service and problem-handling lapses

• Location: Directly beside Meydan Racecourse; plan on driving or taxis for major city sights.

• Rooms: Renovated rooms start at a generous 62 square metres, with balconies and large windows.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Warm staff earn frequent praise, but complaint handling is not uniformly five-star.

• Amenities: Rooftop infinity pool, children's pool, gym and dining; golf and tennis are nearby.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; breakfast inclusion varies, and reported renovation work needs checking directly.
