Axel's take: 8.4/10

Spacious rooms and Hollywood character, but busy-hotel logistics can interrupt the five-star experience. a Hollywood-themed 5-star high-rise in Business Bay, scored for what it is.

Paramount is a Hollywood-themed 5-star high-rise in Business Bay, and we'd pick it for generous rooms and cinematic character rather than discreet luxury. Tripadvisor guests praise the spacious rooms and comfortable beds; Booking.com and Expedia reviews reinforce the broadly positive picture on cleanliness and staff. Breakfast is another regular strength, while the outdoor pool, spa, gym and screening room give you reasons to stay in.

The trade-off is scale: recent Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly mention slow lifts, with some reporting valet delays and crowded breakfasts. Service earns plenty of praise, but isn't uniformly polished when things go wrong. Downtown attractions are accessible by taxi rather than an easy sightseeing stroll. It's a strong choice for travelers who enjoy themed design; we'd skip it for walkability or consistently seamless luxury service.

• Best for: film fans and design-minded couples; travelers wanting spacious rooms; taxi-based city breaks

• Watch out for: slow lifts at busy times; occasional valet and breakfast congestion; taxi-dependent sightseeing

• Location: Business Bay base for Downtown visits; plan on taxis rather than sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Generously sized, cinema-themed rooms; comfortable beds are a recurring positive.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Staff friendliness stands out, but busy-period logistics and problem handling can be uneven.

• Amenities: Outdoor and children's pools, spa, gym, restaurants, bars and a screening room.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a security deposit and tourism fee; airport transfers and extra beds cost extra.
