Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong budget base for metro access, helpful staff and straightforward comfort. a no-frills 3-star in Deira near the metro, scored for what it is.

Ibis Al Rigga is a no-frills 3-star that makes sense for travelers who want to explore Dubai rather than spend the day at their hotel. Its Deira location puts restaurants and shops nearby, with Al Rigga Metro around five minutes away. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Accor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean rooms. We'd call it a strong budget choice for short city stays.

The main compromise is space: standard rooms measure about 19 square meters, and guests do mention their compact size. Expect practical comfort rather than anything fancy. The hotel also has smoking rooms, so specify non-smoking when booking. Breakfast isn't automatically included; check your package. We'd skip it if you want a spacious room or a hotel that feels like a holiday destination itself.

• Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; solo travelers and couples; short business stays

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms; smoking rooms available; breakfast inclusion varies by booking

• Location: Walkable Deira dining and shopping, around five minutes from Al Rigga Metro.

• Rooms: Standard doubles and twins are about 19 square meters; functional rather than spacious.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews across Expedia, Tripadvisor and Accor generally praise room cleaning.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent guest reviews.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking, a 24-hour gym, café and bar.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra unless included; Expedia lists a locally collected tourism fee.
