Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong-value city base with praised housekeeping and staff, but compact rooms. a practical 3-star city hotel near Mall of the Emirates, scored for what it is.

Centro Barsha is a practical 3-star in Al Barsha, and we'd pick it for a comfortable city stay rather than a resort holiday. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff, while breakfast also earns good feedback. Mall of the Emirates, the metro and plenty of neighborhood restaurants are within walking distance. A rooftop pool and gym give this straightforward hotel useful extras.

The main compromise is space: small rooms come up across review sites, and some guests find the lighting dim. Several recent Trip.com guests also describe dated televisions, so don't expect cutting-edge in-room entertainment. It's a strong pick for business travelers and couples who spend their days out. We'd skip it if generous room sizes or a beach setting are central to the trip.

• Best for: value-minded couples exploring Dubai; business travelers; Mall of the Emirates shoppers

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms; some rooms feel dim; dated in-room televisions

• Location: Walkable access to Mall of the Emirates, metro stations and neighborhood restaurants.

• Rooms: Comfortable but compact; room size is the clearest recurring drawback.

• Cleanliness: Housekeeping is consistently praised across recent guest reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception and housekeeping teams are recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, gym, restaurant, sports bar, round-the-clock deli and free self-parking.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion and tourism-tax treatment; airport transfers cost extra.
