Spacious rooms and warm service make this a strong Business Bay base. a renovated five-star city hotel in Business Bay, scored for what it is.

Anantara Downtown Dubai is a five-star city hotel in Business Bay, not a resort or a doorstep-to-Dubai-Mall address. We'd pick it for unusually generous rooms, strong housekeeping and service that guests repeatedly describe as personal and welcoming. The hotel confirms its rooms have been renovated; recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests largely back up the refreshed look and comfort. Breakfast, the outdoor pool and spa give it appeal beyond business trips.

The trade-off is the setting: expect taxis for much of your sightseeing, and don't assume every room has a landmark view. Booking.com and Trip.com guests report nearby construction affecting outlooks, while recent Tripadvisor reviews mention nighttime road or poolside noise. Some guests also describe uneven arrival service. It's a strong city base, but we'd skip it for beach holidays or guaranteed quiet.

• Best for: business travelers; couples wanting spacious rooms; sightseers comfortable using taxis

• Watch out for: nearby construction affecting some views; road and poolside noise in some rooms; occasional check-in service lapses

• Location: Business Bay base for city trips; less convenient for sightseeing entirely on foot.

• Rooms: Newly renovated, generously sized rooms; entry-level rooms measure 52 square meters.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong overall, with housekeeping praised across guest-review sites.

• Service: Warm, personalized attention is a recurring strength, though arrival service can be uneven.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, spa and several dining venues; breakfast receives frequent praise.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; a tourism fee applies, and breakfast may cost extra depending on your booking.
