Axel's take on Al Naseem & Haramain Station: #5 of 5 in Jeddah, 5.6/10
Stay for a useful train connection, not for the Jeddah holiday atmosphere. Al Naseem offers the strongest value and airport rail access, but weaker hotels, sightseeing access and holiday atmosphere leave it last overall.
Al Naseem is a functional inland base around King Abdullah Road and the Haramain railway approach. Its defining advantage is Al-Sulaymaniyah station, which connects Jeddah with the airport and the intercity rail network. The surrounding streets are about everyday meals and getting somewhere else, rather than waterfront strolling or historic lanes.
Station proximity needs checking at street level: a nearby-looking address does not guarantee a comfortable walk with luggage across major roads. For a rail-linked business stop or a trip organized around onward travel, this can make sense. For a normal first visit, repeated rides to the coast and old town outweigh the transport advantage; we would stay elsewhere.
- Best for: travelers on a budget, business trips and conventions
- Skip it if: You want an atmospheric leisure base; You assume every nearby address is walkable to the station
- Getting around: L12 serves Al-Sulaymaniyah station toward Al-Balad; Haramain trains connect directly with JED Terminal 1, but allow a taxi for the station’s last mile where needed.
- After dark: Recent neighborhood-specific night reports are sparse; choose a known dinner destination and plan the return journey rather than relying on an evening walking scene.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $86 a night · usually 11% under the public rate

Where to look in Al Naseem & Haramain Station
- Al-Sulaymaniyah Haramain Station. Use the station as your anchor when onward rail travel matters more than neighborhood sightseeing.
- Umm Al Mouameneen Sauda Street. Everyday restaurants and small shops make this a practical dinner-and-sleep base for travelers continuing elsewhere. Hotels here: Marlo Hotel, City View Hotel.
How to choose
- Choose Jiwar Almasi Hotel if you want roomy family accommodation at a lower rate, and swimming is not essential.
- Choose Marlo Hotel if you are using the railway and want an indoor pool, comfortable rooms and helpful staff.
- Choose Warwick Hotel Jeddah if you want a generally well-liked breakfast and fuller wellness facilities, accepting possible road noise.
What paying more buys
Jiwar Almasi keeps costs down with spacious studios and suites, but swimming needs confirmation. Warwick Hotel Jeddah adds a generally well-liked breakfast and an indoor pool, sauna and steam room. The upgrade is less compelling for a brief train stop, especially if road noise would outweigh the extra facilities. Typical rates with Axel here run from $64 a night at City View Hotel to $131 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Jeddah Plaza (last 30 days).
