Axel's take

a five-star boutique hotel near the Trevi Fountain

9.3/10

A standout luxury base for exploring Rome, with service that earns its reputation.

Umiltà 36 is a five-star boutique hotel near the Trevi Fountain, and we'd put it high on the list for a luxury sightseeing stay. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise immaculate rooms, comfortable beds, generous breakfasts and genuinely helpful staff; Booking.com's exceptionally strong ratings reinforce that picture. The appeal is personal service and polished comfort rather than sheer scale, with rooms frequently described as quiet despite the central location.

The trade-offs are relatively small. A few Tripadvisor guests report curtains that leave gaps, so light-sensitive sleepers should ask about blackout coverage. The rooftop bar is seasonal—confirm opening dates rather than counting on it. We'd choose it for couples and travelers spending their days exploring Rome; skip it if a large gym and extensive leisure facilities matter more than location and attentive service.

Best for

  • couples on a luxury city break
  • first-time Rome sightseeing
  • travelers who value personal service

Watch out for

  • seasonal rooftop bar
  • occasional blackout-curtain gaps
  • limited fitness facilities

Rooms
Stylish, comfortable and often praised for quietness; a few guests flag incomplete blackout coverage.

Service

Amenities
Highly praised breakfast, dining, a seasonal rooftop bar and a small 24-hour gym.

  • This page: Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts rates, Rome. Every rate Axel has seen for Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Rome in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Umiltà 36 - Preferred Hotels & Resorts rates, Rome" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/rome/umilta-36-preferred-hotels-resorts-1259694; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
