#9 of 9 hotels in Egmore & Chennai Central by Axel's take. Egmore & Chennai Central is #4 of 10 places to stay in Chennai. The best hotels in Egmore & Chennai Central, ranked · Where to stay in Chennai
Axel's take: 5.6/10
Handy for Chennai Central, but recurring hygiene complaints make it hard to recommend. a basic independent 3-star near Chennai Central, scored for what it is.
Liza Regency is a basic independent 3-star near Chennai Central, better suited to a practical stopover than a relaxing Chennai stay. Its strongest points are station access, nearby places to eat and staff who repeatedly earn praise for helpfulness. Agoda guests are more positive overall than Booking.com and Expedia guests, but the evidence does not suggest dependable three-star comfort.
The sticking point is housekeeping. Reviews across several sites describe dirty bedding, tired bathrooms and small rooms; cockroach reports recur, including in 2026. Recent Tripadvisor and Agoda guests also mention traffic noise and amplified calls to prayer from the mosque opposite. Some travelers report comfortable beds and good food, but we'd skip it if cleanliness or quiet sleep is a priority. Confirm breakfast arrangements and parking before booking rather than relying on the amenity list.
-

-

-
Service: Helpful reception staff are a recurring strength, though housekeeping responses are less consistent.
-
Amenities: Listings include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and terrace; don't expect extensive leisure facilities.
-
Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion varies; transfers and extra beds cost extra. Confirm parking availability directly.
