Surfsand is an upscale, family- and dog-friendly beach resort, and a strong pick for a Cannon Beach getaway. Its 2024 renovation refreshed rooms and shared facilities; recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise comfortable beds, cleanliness and welcoming staff. Haystack Rock views are the main draw, but the indoor pool, hot tub, beach bonfires and afternoon cookies give it more substance than a hotel trading only on its address.

The catch is room selection: some Puffin rooms have no ocean view and sit a short walk from the sand.
