#1 of 1 hotels in East Village by Axel's take. East Village is #3 of 6 places to stay in Calgary. The best hotels in East Village, ranked · Where to stay in Calgary

Axel's take: 8.1/10

Spacious suites and useful extras, but the surroundings and train noise need consideration. a practical 3-star all-suite hotel in Calgary’s East Village, scored for what it is.

This 3-star extended-stay hotel is a strong pick for travelers who want space and a kitchen rather than boutique polish. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean, roomy suites, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Included hot breakfast, an indoor pool and guest laundry make it particularly practical for longer stays. Downtown attractions, groceries and the CTrain are within easy reach.

The trade-off is the immediate setting: recent guests across sites describe visible homelessness and drug use nearby, although experiences of feeling comfortable vary. Tripadvisor reviewers also flag train-facing room noise and occasional housekeeping or check-in lapses. Underground parking costs extra and is limited. An October 2026 guest reported main-entrance renovations; confirm whether these have finished. We’d skip it if quiet surroundings and consistently polished service matter more than space.

  • Best for: longer stays with self-catering; families needing extra space; downtown event visitors

  • Watch out for: train noise in track-facing rooms; surrounding street activity; limited paid parking; reported entrance works

  • Location: Convenient for downtown, groceries and CTrain; the immediate surroundings divide guests.

  • Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites and comfortable beds; request a room away from the tracks.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness feedback, with occasional missed-housekeeping reports.

  • Service: Usually praised as friendly and helpful, but recent reviews include uneven check-in and problem handling.

  • Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, indoor pool, hot tub, gym and self-service laundry.

  • Fees and surprises: Mandatory Destination Marketing Fee, paid limited parking and pet fees; entrance renovations reported in October 2026.
