Axel's take: 8.4/10

A dependable northeast base with spacious rooms, helpful staff and free parking. A full-service mid-range conference hotel in northeast Calgary, scored for what it is.

This full-service mid-range conference hotel is a strong pick for a Calgary stopover or business trip, especially with a car. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms and friendly staff; Booking.com’s ratings back up the comfort and cleanliness. Free parking, an indoor pool and an on-site restaurant make it a practical, good-value alternative to staying downtown.

The trade-off is location: this is northeast Calgary’s business district, not a downtown sightseeing base, though Marlborough CTrain station is within walking distance. Some guests report older bathroom fittings and noisy heating or air-conditioning equipment, rather than a uniformly modern finish. Breakfast is not automatically included, and the airport shuttle requires reservations and carries a charge. We’d skip it for a walk-everywhere city break, but recommend it for drivers and conference guests.

• Best for: Business and conference travelers; Families traveling by car; Calgary stopovers

• Watch out for: Outside the downtown sightseeing core; Some dated fittings and HVAC noise; Breakfast and airport shuttle may cost extra

• Location: Northeast business district; Marlborough CTrain station is roughly an 11-minute walk away.

• Rooms: Spacious and generally comfortable; some guests flag older bathroom fittings and noisy climate controls.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback and major-site category ratings.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive repeated praise, including for accommodating check-in requests.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, hot tub, gym, restaurant and lounge; complimentary Wi-Fi and guest parking.

• Fees and surprises: Reserve the paid airport shuttle; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking, and pets incur a fee.
