Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong family pick, with waterslides doing more work than the dated decor. a family-focused 3-star airport-area hotel with an indoor waterpark, scored for what it is.

This family-focused 3-star near Calgary airport is a strong pick if keeping children entertained matters more than stylish surroundings. Waves Water Park is the main draw, backed by a separate indoor pool, free parking and a complimentary airport shuttle. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, spacious rooms and comfortable beds; cleanliness is generally a strength. For families, it offers good value beyond a basic overnight stop.

The trade-offs are dated finishes and a busy, sometimes noisy family atmosphere. At peak times, waterpark access requires a one-hour slot booked at check-in. Breakfast is not included with every booking, and the shuttle is not round-the-clock. An October 2026 Tripadvisor guest reports Jetz lounge unavailable for renovation, so confirm dining arrangements. We'd skip it for a quiet couples' escape or a walkable downtown stay.

• Best for: families with young children; family airport stopovers; road trips with a car

• Watch out for: peak-time waterpark reservations; dated finishes and occasional noise; reported Jetz lounge renovation

• Location: Convenient for airport access and major roads; better with a car than for downtown sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, though dated decor and occasional hallway or air-conditioning noise draw complaints.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive across major sites; scattered housekeeping complaints do not dominate the overall picture.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistent strengths across guest reviews.

• Amenities: Two waterslides, a separate indoor pool, hot tubs, gym and free parking; peak waterpark sessions may be limited to one hour.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion and shuttle hours; an October 2026 guest reports Jetz lounge unavailable for renovation.
