Hotels in CairoA simple 3-star hotel on the third floor of a downtown Cairo building
7.2/10
Good downtown value and helpful staff, but room consistency needs caution.
The Location Hotel is a simple 3-star on the third floor of an older downtown Cairo building, rather than a conventional standalone hotel. It's a reasonable pick for budget sightseeing: Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum and metro stations are within walking distance. Booking.com and Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff and clean rooms, while breakfast adds to the value. Expect practical accommodation with old-fashioned decor, not polished hotel facilities.
The trade-offs are consistency and noise. Recent Expedia guests describe street or lobby noise, bathroom maintenance problems and, in one case, a windowless room unlike the one booked. Separate reports on Expedia and Tripadvisor also describe guests being moved between properties. Confirm your exact room, window and reservation before arrival. We'd skip it for light sleepers, travelers needing dependable accessibility, or anyone wanting a reliably smooth check-in.
Axel's opinion, from the hotel's website and recent guest reviews, scored for what the hotel is. Sources: Booking.com · Expedia · skyscanner.net · wanderlog.com. Reviewed Oct 10, 2026.
