#3 of 8 hotels in Old Town (Lipscani) by Axel's take. Old Town (Lipscani) is #2 of 7 places to stay in Bucharest. The best hotels in Old Town (Lipscani), ranked · Where to stay in Bucharest

Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong luxury choice for Old Town, with more character than room-size consistency. A historic five-star luxury hotel in Bucharest’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

The Marmorosch is a five-star hotel in a restored bank, and a strong pick for a Bucharest city break with some grandeur. Its historic public spaces and cocktail bar in the former vault give it genuine character. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, thorough cleaning and generous breakfast, while the Old Town location makes exploring on foot easy. The indoor pool, saunas and spa round out the luxury offering.

Choose the room category carefully: some entry-level rooms feel compact, and occasional recent reports flag inadequate or noisy air-conditioning. Those are caveats rather than the dominant guest experience, but they matter at this level. Breakfast is not included with every booking, and there is no on-site parking. We'd skip it if spacious rooms or effortless car access are priorities.

  • Best for: Couples on a luxury city break; Sightseers exploring on foot; Travelers who appreciate historic architecture

  • Watch out for: Compact entry-level rooms; Occasional air-conditioning complaints; No on-site parking

  • Location: Central Old Town setting, convenient for restaurants, sights and Universitate metro.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, elegant rooms overall; size varies, with occasional cooling and maintenance complaints.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest reviews, including very high Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

  • Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise welcoming reception staff, concierge help and attentive breakfast service.

  • Amenities: Indoor pool, spa, dry and steam saunas, gym, restaurant and distinctive Vault cocktail bar.

  • Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; pets incur additional charges, and parking is off-site.
