Axel's take: 8.3/10

Strong service and central convenience outweigh the uneven five-star polish. a central 5-star business hotel near Piața Romană, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Bucharest is a central 5-star business hotel we'd choose for reliable comfort rather than distinctive luxury. Booking.com and Expedia ratings are consistently strong, while recent guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast and the executive lounge also attract enthusiastic Tripadvisor feedback. Piața Romană metro nearby makes it a practical base beyond business trips.

The trade-off is uneven polish: some guests describe dated interiors, and standard rooms are compact for this class. More importantly, management announced phased room and public-space renovations in February 2026, targeting completion in 2027; the current extent of disruption remains unverified. Ask for a refurbished room away from work areas. We'd skip it for a special-occasion luxury stay, but it's a strong practical choice if service and location matter more than design.

• Best for: business travelers; city breaks with easy metro access; Bonvoy members with lounge access

• Watch out for: Phased renovations; confirm current disruption; Compact standard rooms; Some dated interiors

• Location: Near Piața Romană metro, with restaurants and shops nearby; not directly in Old Town.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds are a strength; standard rooms are about 24 square meters, and condition varies.

• Cleanliness: Generally strong: Booking.com scores cleanliness 9.0, supported by recent positive Expedia feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistent positives across review sites.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, spa, gym and two restaurants; lounge access depends on room package or eligible status.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and renovation activity before booking.
