#5 of 9 hotels in Universitate & Rosetti by Axel's take. Universitate & Rosetti is #3 of 7 places to stay in Bucharest. The best hotels in Universitate & Rosetti, ranked · Where to stay in Bucharest

Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical central base, but tired bathrooms and street noise limit its appeal. A basic 3-star city hotel near University Square, scored for what it is.

Relax Comfort Suites is a basic 3-star in central Bucharest, best treated as a sightseeing base rather than somewhere to linger. We'd consider it for a short, value-conscious city break: University Square, public transport and the Old Town are within easy reach. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, convenient location and comfortable rooms, with many finding the accommodation clean and good for the money.

The compromise is uneven upkeep. Recent guests across several sites describe dated bathrooms, worn fittings and rooms that look less fresh than the photographs. Cleaning earns mostly positive feedback, but isn't completely consistent. The hotel says all rooms face the street, and traffic noise remains a recurring complaint. We'd skip it if quiet sleep or reliably modern bathrooms matter more than location.

  • Best for: Value-conscious city breakers; Sightseers using public transport; Short central stays

  • Watch out for: Traffic noise in street-facing rooms; Dated bathrooms and uneven maintenance; Room condition may disappoint against photos

  • Location: Near University Square and the metro, with the Old Town within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Often praised for comfort and space, but condition varies and fittings can feel tired.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, with some recent reports of inadequate cleaning and bathroom odors.

  • Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength across booking sites.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, an elevator and 24-hour reception; Jacuzzi rooms are a specific category.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and the exact room category before booking.
