#9 of 9 hotels in Universitate & Rosetti by Axel's take. Universitate & Rosetti is #3 of 7 places to stay in Bucharest. The best hotels in Universitate & Rosetti, ranked · Where to stay in Bucharest

Axel's take: 6.8/10

Useful for Old Town access, but the four-star label promises more than it delivers. an older, basic 4-star near Bucharest’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Atrium is an older, basic 4-star within walking distance of Bucharest’s Old Town and University Square. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded city break, rather than a stay where the hotel itself matters. Expedia guests often praise helpful staff and convenient sightseeing access, while Booking.com’s overall rating is more restrained. Standard rooms offer reasonable space, and plenty of guests report clean, comfortable stays.

The sticking point is upkeep: recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly describe tired furnishings, broken fittings and rooms that fall short of four-star expectations. Cleaning receives both praise and complaints, soundproofing is a recurring weakness, and breakfast variety divides opinion. We'd skip it for a polished, reliably quiet stay. Drivers should confirm parking directly: the hotel advertises limited free spaces, but Expedia says none is available.

  • Best for: budget-minded city breaks; sightseers prioritizing Old Town access

  • Watch out for: dated rooms and maintenance gaps; uneven cleaning and soundproofing; conflicting parking information

  • Location: Walkable to Old Town; the hotel places Universitate metro about 600 meters away.

  • Rooms: Standard rooms offer reasonable space, but recent guests report worn furnishings and broken fittings.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive aggregate scores, tempered by several recent complaints about linens and housekeeping.

  • Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength overall, although individual experiences vary.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, breakfast and an elevator; confirm restaurant service beyond breakfast.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; transfers cost extra, and parking availability needs direct confirmation.
