Back Bay luxury with excellent facilities, though service isn't always as polished as the rooms. a modern five-star luxury hotel in Back Bay, scored for what it is.

Raffles Boston is a modern five-star luxury hotel in Back Bay, and we'd shortlist it for a celebratory city break. Its richly finished rooms, Guerlain Spa, indoor lap pool and skyline-facing Long Bar give you reasons to linger. Expedia and Booking.com guests strongly praise cleanliness, comfort and location; recent Tripadvisor reviews also applaud thoughtful staff. Copley Square, Newbury Street and Back Bay station are close by.

The reservation is consistency, not the building. Most guests describe warm, attentive service, but recurring reports of slow dining and uneven butler follow-through matter at this level. Breakfast and valet parking cost extra unless included in your booking. Amar closed in April 2026; La Padrona and the other dining venues remain. It's a strong pick for couples and spa-minded travelers, less convincing if flawless, anticipatory service is your priority.

• Best for: couples celebrating a special occasion; spa and pool enthusiasts; luxury travelers exploring Back Bay

• Watch out for: uneven butler and dining service; breakfast and valet parking extras; Amar restaurant has closed

• Location: Walkable Back Bay base near Copley Square, Newbury Street and rail connections.

• Rooms: Well-appointed contemporary rooms with strong comfort ratings; views vary by room.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Accor guest feedback.

• Service: Warm staff earn substantial praise, but butler follow-through and dining speed remain uneven.

• Amenities: Guerlain Spa, indoor lap pool, hot tub, 24-hour gym and several restaurants and bars.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking, breakfast and pets can add charges; Amar is no longer operating.
