Axel's take: 8.2/10

A comfortable Cambridge base if you prioritize clean rooms over a central address. a modern, business-oriented 4-star near Alewife station, scored for what it is.

This modern, business-oriented 4-star in North Cambridge is a strong pick if you want dependable comfort and don't mind taking the train. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Alewife station is roughly an eight-to-ten-minute walk away, making this a practical base for exploring Cambridge and Boston. The indoor pool, gym and courtyard add useful extras without making it a resort.

The main compromise is the setting: you're in an office-and-apartment area rather than a lively central neighborhood. Parking and breakfast cost extra, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly question those extras' value. The lounge serves small plates rather than an extensive dinner menu. We'd choose it for business trips or transit-friendly sightseeing, but skip it if restaurants, nightlife and major sights need to be right outside.

• Best for: business travelers; sightseers comfortable using the train; travelers prioritizing cleanliness

• Watch out for: outside central Cambridge and Boston; parking and breakfast cost extra; limited evening dining menu

• Location: North Cambridge office-and-apartment setting, roughly eight to ten minutes on foot from Alewife station.

• Rooms: Modern, comfortable rooms; beds and overall condition receive broadly positive feedback.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and recent Expedia guest feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are praised across several review sites.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, fitness center, courtyard, breakfast kitchen and small-plates lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Paid garage parking and breakfast; pet fee applies, and oversized vehicles cannot use the garage.
