#8 of 9 hotels in Downtown Boise by Axel's take. Downtown Boise is #1 of 6 places to stay in Boise. The best hotels in Downtown Boise, ranked · Where to stay in Boise

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong downtown base with refreshed rooms and a worthwhile steakhouse attached. An independent, upscale 4-star hotel in downtown Boise, scored for what it is.

Hotel 43 is an independent, upscale 4-star in downtown Boise, and it's a strong pick for exploring without a car. The hotel reports a 2024 renovation, and recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the walkable location near Boise Centre. Attached Chandlers adds steak dinners and nightly live jazz; complimentary airport transport is another useful perk.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: overnight parking costs extra, breakfast is a simple continental spread, and some guests report street or lobby noise. We'd request a higher room away from Front Street if sleep matters most. The hotel now lists a small onsite gym, although the larger fitness facilities and pool are at sister property The Grove. Choose it for downtown convenience and dinner plans; skip it if you want resort-style facilities under one roof.

  • Best for: Couples planning dinner and a downtown weekend; Boise Centre business travelers; Visitors exploring without a car

  • Watch out for: Street and lobby noise in some rooms; Paid overnight parking; Pool at sister property, not onsite

  • Location: Highly walkable downtown setting near Boise Centre, restaurants and bars.

  • Rooms: Refreshed interiors earn strong comfort reviews; quieter room placement is worth requesting.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall marks across booking sites; isolated recent complaints do not dominate the evidence.

  • Service: Helpful staff receive consistent praise, though a few guests describe missed follow-up.

  • Amenities: Chandlers, simple continental breakfast, airport shuttle, seasonal bikes and a small onsite gym.

  • Fees and surprises: Self-parking and valet cost extra; the hotel says there is no resort or hotel-services fee.
