Axel's take: 7.6/10

A good budget stop with character, but confirm the deposit before booking. a simple 2-star roadside motel near I-275, scored for what it is.

Fellows Creek Lodge is a simple 2-star roadside motel in Canton, and we'd consider it for a practical, car-based stay. Recent Expedia and Hotels.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, quiet nights and helpful staff; brick accents and fireplaces give some rooms more character than the usual budget stop. Expedia lists a 2022 remodel, though this remains an older motel rather than a full-service hotel.

The trade-offs are limited facilities, exterior room entrances and less consistent feedback outside the recent booking-site reviews: Tripadvisor's smaller, older review pool is notably weaker. We'd confirm the refundable deposit directly, since published policy and a recent guest's report differ. It's a good fit for drivers prioritizing a clean overnight base; skip it if you want extensive amenities or a walkable town-center stay.

  • Best for: budget-conscious road-trippers; short Canton visits with a car; couples seeking a fireplace or jetted-tub room

  • Watch out for: confirm the refundable deposit; exterior room entrances; limited facilities

  • Location: Convenient to I-275 and roughly a 15-minute drive from Detroit Metro Airport; better suited to drivers.

  • Rooms: Individually decorated rooms with refrigerators and microwaves; fireplaces and jetted tubs depend on room type.

  • Cleanliness: A recurring strength in 2025–2026 guest feedback, although not every report is positive.

  • Service: Recent reviews generally describe kind, helpful staff; older feedback is more mixed.

  • Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi, lobby coffee and a 24-hour front desk; no elevator.

  • Fees and surprises: A refundable deposit is listed; confirm its terms directly. The listed official website could not be accessed.
