#7 of 7 hotels in Port Allen by Axel's take. Port Allen is #5 of 6 places to stay in Baton Rouge. The best hotels in Port Allen, ranked · Where to stay in Baton Rouge

Axel's take: 6.0/10

Convenient for a highway stop, but cleanliness is too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a budget, motel-style 2-star off I-10 in Port Allen, scored for what it is.

This budget, motel-style 2-star is in Port Allen, not Baton Rouge proper, and works best as a basic I-10 stopover. Free parking, breakfast and Wi-Fi give it practical appeal. Expedia guests often praise friendly staff and comfortable beds, and some recent visitors report clean rooms. We'd consider it for a short, budget-first stay, but it isn't a dependable all-rounder.

The main drawback is inconsistent housekeeping: recent Expedia reviews and Google feedback describe dirty bathrooms, hair left behind and worn bedding, alongside much happier stays. Maintenance complaints include tired bathrooms and unreliable ice machines. A property sales listing advertises a 2025 renovation, but newer feedback doesn't establish a consistent turnaround. We'd skip it if reliable cleanliness matters more than highway convenience, or if you want a walkable Baton Rouge base.

Best for: budget-minded motorists; short I-10 stopovers
Watch out for: inconsistent room and bathroom cleaning; worn bedding and uneven maintenance; Port Allen location, not downtown Baton Rouge
Location: Off I-10 in Port Allen; practical for drivers rather than a walkable Baton Rouge stay.
Rooms: Exterior-corridor rooms; comfort earns praise, but bedding and bathroom condition vary.
Cleanliness: Mixed reports, with recurring recent complaints about bathroom cleaning and hair.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring positive in Expedia feedback.
Amenities: Choice lists free breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, an exercise room and a seasonal outdoor pool.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a check-in damage deposit; Choice permits service animals but no pets.
